New Information on our Ancestor Simon Lereau

I have recently been made aware of new online information from the Programme de Recherche sur l'Émigration des Français En Nouvelle-France (PRÉFEN) at the Université de Caen Basse Normandie. Their website has a searcheable database with information on 4,730 of our French ancestors - and it includes our ancestor Simon Lereau.

In particular, it lists Simon as having been born in the parish of Saint-Martin in Igé (Orne) and baptized on October 10, 1624. Simon Guiet and Marguerite Lereau are listed as his godparents. See for yourself.

Igé is a few miles North of Saint-Cosme-en-Vairais, the town Simon always listed as his town of origin in France.

See where Igé is located with MapQuest.
